"I actually hadn't spoken to you in many months since that so I don't want you to think I'm blowing all my money on weed" The first part of that sentence does all the heavy lifting...if this person hasn't spoken to you in "many months" and is now only reaching out because they are desperate for money, they are not by any definition any sort of friend, just an acquaintance.
