U.S. President Donald Trump signed a Presidential Permit on Thursday authorizing private U.S. company Bridger Pipeline LLC’s proposed cross-border project using leftover infrastructure from the Keystone XL pipeline to proceed. “Slightly different than the last administration — they wouldn’t sign a pipeline deal,” Trump said following the signing. The permit will allow Bridger to construct and operate the cross-border segment, enabling crude to flow from Canada to the U.S. Regulatory filings previously submitted in Montana suggest Bridger plans to build a 550,000-barrel-per-day pipeline that begins at the Canada-U.S. border near Phillips County, Montana. The owner of the former Keystone XL assets, South Bow Corp. , has been advancing work on a joint project with a U.S. partner — widely believed to be Bridger — known as Prairie Connector.
