Rising conflicts in the Indo-Mediterranean, especially after the October 7 attack on Israel and disruptions like the Strait of Hormuz closure, have underscored the importance of maritime security and trade routes. Against this backdrop, India and Italy are strengthening defence ties, focusing on co-production, naval systems, undersea capabilities and cybersecurity under a joint strategic plan.
