India's power consumption saw a 4.04 percent rise in April. Unseasonal rains initially subdued demand. However, rising temperatures later in the month pushed power demand higher. Peak power demand reached a record 256.11 GW. Experts predict further increases in power demand from May onwards due to a harsh summer. Monsoon is expected to bring relief in June.
