A Date with Death 2: Remnants, a sequel to the free dating sim game that launched in 2023, launched on Kickstarter on April 30, 2026 and is already fully funded after a single day. Two and a Half Studios sought $28,783 to make the new visual novel featuring grim reapers, and as of time of writing over 2,300 people committed over $184,000. As such, it will be fully funded when the campaign ends on May 30, 2026. A Steam page with demo is already live, and the game is expected to launch in Q1 2027. The base game, once available, will be free, but the expansion DLC with more story to it, additional endings, and more customization options will cost money. In the original Date with Death, our fully customizable avatar was about to die and could meet and fall in love with the grim reaper assigned to them. With Date with Death 2: Remnants, we create another fully customizable protagonist and find we’re the new Grim Reaper 0213 in training alongside Atlus under Grim Reaper 5012. We can choose our character’s appearance, their gender, and their pronouns. As we go through training and work with the two of them, engaging in phone calls and texts, we can learn truths about what’s happening in the afterlife and perhaps find love. However, you at minimum get 14 in-game days to get through it all. The minimum amount of money you can contribute to the crowdfunding campaign to get a copy of the paid expansion for the title is ~$9. That also gets your name in the credits. Upping the contribution to $16 gets us a digital art book too. If someone pays $33, they can take part in beta tests as well.
