A Disney park guest was repeatedly “kicked” and “punched” during a violent altercation.Disney parks are built on magic, but guest behavior doesn’t always live up to it. In April, a guest was arrested after allegedly assaulting a cast member when trying to meet Mirabel from Encanto (2021) at Walt Disney World Resort. Just a few weeks earlier, another man was arrested after apparently pushing a queue jumper to the ground in line for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.Credit: DisneyAlso in April, a family dispute at Disney’s Beach Club Resort escalated into a physical altercation after a husband allegedly grabbed his wife and took her phone to prevent her from calling for help. Now, yet another incident has been reported at one Disney park.Guest Lashes Out After Breaking Theme Park RulesThe incident occurred earlier this week after a male guest confronted another male guest about breaking park rules.Credit: Shanghai Disney ResortA guest was smoking in a non-smoking area when a fellow parkgoer asked them to stop. They then apparently grew defensive after being asked to stop and started to lash out, repeatedly kicking and punching the other man.The conflict took place in Shanghai Disneyland’s Disneytown area and was caught on camera, with footage shared by local news outlets. In it, a Disney cast member is shown trying – and failing – to intervene.Shanghai Disney Resort tightened its smoking rules in May 2025, limiting all smoking, including e-cigarettes, to designated areas only. In response, Shanghai Disneyland reiterated its policy, urging visitors to follow park rules and staff instructions, and to report violations to cast members. The park also made clear it has zero tolerance for misconduct. Guests who disrupt safety or break guidelines can be removed, reported to authorities, and potentially banned from returning.Shanghai Disneyland also notes that it has installed more than 2,800 “No Smoking” signs across the resort, spanning the park, Disneytown, Wishing Star Park, and its hotels. The signage is placed in high-traffic areas, including entrances, queues, and dining locations, reminding guests to follow smoking rules and keep to designated areas.Credit: Shanghai DisneylandGuests have also complained about parkgoers smoking in non-smoking areas at Disneyland Paris in the past.More Violence at Shanghai DisneylandThis isn’t the first time a violent incident has taken place at Shanghai Disneyland. In May 2025, a violent altercation broke out inside Shanghai Disneyland, with footage shared on Weibo showing two men, identified by police as Liu, 36, and Yan, 22, exchanging blows near a retail shop as crowds, including children, looked on.Credit: Shanghai DisneylandThe dispute escalated to involve both of their partners, with pushing, attempted interference, and multiple bystanders stepping in before a cast member intervened. Police later said the incident, reported around 6 p.m. on May 31, may have begun when one group entered another’s photo, though some reports pointed to queue-jumping.And in March 2025, a confrontation at the entrance of Shanghai Disneyland escalated after a guest began smoking in the security line, prompting parents to intervene over concerns about children inhaling secondhand smoke. The situation quickly turned hostile, with the guest responding aggressively before the dispute became physical, as two men were filmed pushing and shoving near the railings.Have you ever witnessed violence at a Disney park? The post UPDATE: Disney Park Guest Beaten, Kicked and Punched After Rule Violation appeared first on Inside the Magic.
