The problem is the word “mutual” really, it’s just community aid. I never give cash, but I do donate food to a community pantry. If someone chooses to take advantage of the pantry, it’s just food, you know? I stopped giving cash of any kind. I even offered to barter money for light labor- clean out my flowerbed, go to the post office for me, etc and I’ll buy you a gas or grocery card- and had very few takers.
