Servizz.gov has launched a new three-year strategy aimed at modernising public services, improving accessibility and bringing government support closer to people across Malta and Gozo. The strategy, titled “Services. Closer to you.”, sets out 10 key initiatives designed to improve how residents access and experience government services.Among the measures announced are expanded outreach for people who struggle to access services, a new personalised web portal, stronger use of data to improve performance and an omnichannel system to ensure consistent quality across physical and digital platforms. The plan also includes strategic forums with stakeholders, regular focus groups for feedback and training, modernisation of regional centres, stronger governance standards and greater employee empowerment.Principal Permanent Secretary Tony Sultana said the strategy will continue driving the modernisation of public services, while making them more accessible to residents. He added that services will increasingly reach people directly in their homes, rather than requiring them to travel for support.Sultana also noted that when a person successfully applies for and receives a service, the benefits often extend beyond the individual and positively impact entire families.Meanwhile, Servizz.gov CEO Massimo Vella said the agency has significantly transformed public service delivery over the past decade, evolving from a single access point into a nationwide network of centres, digital platforms and support solutions. He added that the new strategy is focused on the future, with plans to use artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to provide more personalised and people-centred services. What do you think of this strategy?•
