(1pt)Sunday1.45: Esna 11/8 (1pt)1000 Guineas: Precise 5/2 (1pt) & Inis Mor 16/1 each-way (1pt)Flora Of BermudaTalented mare who has the experience in Group 1s and now dropping back in class after some fluctuating form last season.Placed a close third behind Big Mojo in September and that shows she’s still got the ability in these kind of sprints.Doesn’t need the run as she often performs on her first run of the season very well, like placing a neck second at 14/1 at York last year in the Group 2 Duke Of York Clipper Stakes.Double RushWent from above evens to odds-on over the course of a day and Shane Foley gets this ride on this talented course and distance winner.Winning at Newmarket is always a good sign when reappearing at this course as it means that they handle the dip, the undulations, the galloping nature of the Rowley mile.Double Rush crucially and the main reason for backing so strongly, is that he is actually rated 103.But because he won late enough in April, carries 8lb less in this handicap and after such an emphatic win, he’s so well-weighted his price should drop considerably.RumstarSome talented 5f sprinters here but Rumstar looks like he can bounce back from a poor run last time out.He had all the excuses though running on very soft ground and running at Paris Longchamp isn’t always ideal for some horses travelling over.He won this race last year off 3lb lower but has won again since at Sandown on good to firm.Asfoora is yet to win at Newmarket whereas Rumstar has done so well before. An additional each-way bet if looking for a bigger price is Shagraan who impressed a lot on his last few starts as a four-year-old.Oxagon & Needle MatchI’d love to side with Gstaad but there’s still that question mark on staying 1m, which of course trainer Aidan O’Brien will be more than confident of but it’s still not enough to side with a horse at 7/2.There’s a couple in this that I like a lot and that’s Oxagon, who bolted up here last month in the Craven Stakes beating Avicenna by two lengths under Oisin Murphy. The Craven is often a good indicator on horses who go on to do well in the 2000 Guineas, and this horse’s improvement over 1m on good ground is more than notable at a big each-way price.Alparslan is a huge price, bigger than Needle Match too which is intriguing as he beat that horse last time out.I like them both to go well here having been stand outs in the Greenham Stakes, another race that can sometimes give a good record to 2000 Guineas runners.Of course it’s over 7f but you could see the pair could also benefit from the step up in trip.Daiquiri BayGood price at each-way for this four-year-old who has shown great ability over 1m4f and even at this course too.He was gelded just four days after running last time here in October and that was when placing a very close third of 12 in the Old Rowley Cup Handicap, won by Yabher.Could improve a lot if finding that little bit more in the final furlong as he showed glimpses of last time out.EsnaShould just be a match up between this filly and Sacred Ground, but even then I see Esna as being above this field in general.Jockey Billy Loughnane should be enjoying plenty of success at Newmarket this weekend and this will be one of his few big favourites he gets a ride on.She placed behind Diamond Necklace last time out at Longchamp, beat Morshdi at Sandown in September, all on soft and tricky conditions. That form is far superior to anything else on offer and if anything 6/4 looks generous at this stage. If she’s one that doesn’t need a run and can match that form on seasonal debut then she’s got every chance to make a great running here.Precise & Inis MorA fantastic renewal of the 1000 Guineas where there’s a huge shout for the favourite and a chance or two each-way on a couple of other fillies.Precise has the course and distance form down, the ideal prep races that indicate she can go on and storm this including form ahead of reappearing rivals – clear shot at 5/2.Then there’s Inis Mor, who was 50/1 for this in the ante-post before going to 100/1 right after her race here in the Nell Gwyn. That was over 7f though and the step back up to 1m is ideal for her and she certainly did have excuses last month, where she can also improve amongst this bigger field, big price but could be rewarded.talkSPORT BET Boosted Favourites30 minutes before the
