No-one is entitled to your talents, people who are talented usually work their asses off at great expense and they don't do it for the benefit of the Brendas of the world. Even a hobby like baking can set you back a decent amount of cash in mixers, utensils, bowls, baking tins etc. Never mind the cost of ingredients. I work in tech and I my own mother used to tell her friends and randos I would fix their laptops for free. She threw a fit when I said I wasn't spending every evening repairing machines after a 12 hour day just so she could look good to the locals.
