Sunday, Kyoto, Japan, post time: 15:40, TENNO SHO (SPRING)-G1, ¥570,000,000, 4yo/up, 3200mTField: Vermicelles (Jpn) (Gold Ship {Jpn}), Sunrise Soleil (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}), Admire Terra (Jpn) (Rey De Oro {Jpn}), Aqua Vernal (Jpn) (Epiphaneia {Jpn}), Keiai Sandera (Jpn) (Silver State {Jpn}), Echt (Jpn) (Rulership {Jpn}), Croix Du Nord (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}), Shin Emperor (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), Precious Day (Jpn) (New Year's Day), Meiner Campana (Jpn) (Gold Ship {Jpn}), Tagano Dude (Jpn) (Yamakatsu Ace {Jpn}), Redentor (Jpn) (Rulership {Jpn}), Mystery Way (Jpn) (Just A Way {Jpn}), Hohelied (Jpn) (Rulership {Jpn}), Wurttemberg (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}).TDN Analysis: Last year's G1 Japanese Derby hero Croix Du Nord enters this race in fine fettle, having taken his third lifetime Group 1 in the Osaka Hai going 2000 metres at Hanshin in April with Group 3 hero Tagano Dude fourth that day. Defending his Tenno Sho (Spring) title is Redentor. In his 2026 bow, he ran eighth over 2200 metres in the G2 Kyoto Kinen in February. Admire Terra beat Aqua Vernal in the G2 Hanshin Daishoten in March. Although winless since the 2025 G2 Neom Turf Cup in Saudi Arabia, Shin Emperor was re-routed to this race after running fourth in the 2026 edition of the former on Valentine's Day.Sunday, Newmarket, post time: 15:35, THE BETFRED 1000 GUINEAS STAKES-G1, £525,000, 3yo, f, 8fTField: Abashiri (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Azleet (GB) (Tasleet {GB}), Darn Hot Gallop (GB) (Too Darn Hot {GB}), Domina Ignis (Fr) (Pinatubo {Ire}), Evolutionist (Ire) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}), Inis Mor (Fr) (Galiway {GB}), Mubasimah (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), My Highness (Ire) (Ghaiyyath {Ire}), Precise (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), Rose Ghaiyyath (Ire) (Ghaiyyath {Ire}), Silenciosa (Ire) (Blame, Spicy Marg (GB) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), The Prettiest Star (GB) (Starman {GB}), Timeforshowcasing (GB) (Showcasing {GB}), Touleen (GB) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), True Love (Ire) (No Nay Never), True Test (GB) (Time Test {GB}), Venetian Lace (Ire) (Masar {Ire}), Venetian Sun (Ire) (Starman {GB}).TDN Analysis: Gstaad will provide a vital clue as to how Precise will fare here when he tackles the 2,000 Guineas 24 hours earlier, with both making their seasonal bow during a time when Ballydoyle's runners have looked badly in need of their first runs. Stable form isn't always a true guide to the fate of this operations's Classic contenders and this is usually the time of year when it starts to pivot from merely moderate towards the customary exceptional. So dominant over course and distance in the Fillies' Mile, Precise received the kind of glowing commendation that Aidan O'Brien reserves for only the special ones at his Press Day in March. She may have a class edge despite surrendering a race-fitness advantage to some of her rivals, but it is worth remembering that her trainer spoke of how much shorter he felt his three-year-olds were than usual a few weeks ago. Precise did have a setback a few weeks ago and wouldn't be the first genuine class act from Ballydoyle to be beaten this early in the campaign before going on to eclipse her peers later in the summer, so this could be the day for something more readied. That could apply to My Highness, who put in a smart comeback effort in the Imprudence last month and has enjoyed the perfect gap to this, is guaranteed to relish the step up to a mile and looked a genuine Classic prospect last term. Andre Fabre's reverence for Newmarket is well-documented and he visits sparingly usually to great effect. It is bordering on the impossible to win a Queen Mary, a Cheveley Park and a Guineas so it is fair to say that despite possessing above-normal ability True Love has it to do here. One of O'Brien's who has come out first time and won, she has already surprised a few by staying seven furlongs well in the Priory Belle and has stamina on her dam's side despite being by a sire who is such a pronounced speed influence so it will be fascinating to she how she performs. Venetian Sun is another with stamina to prove, having beaten Gstaad in a strong Prix Morny but she didn't shape like just a sprinter behind Precise in the Moyglare and her dam was a mile-and-a-quarter performer. Along with Evolutionist, she gives Karl Burke a strong hand and the way the latter readily upstaged some of France's best three-year-old fillies in the Prix de la Grotte puts her firmly in the mix. Going there means that she has had extra time from her prep to the Guineas, unlike those who contested this race's traditional trials, the Nell Gwyn and Fred Darling, and that could prove highly beneficial. With 19 in here, there are some lovely prospects who have abundant potential but this looks like a renewal where the big favourites have too much ammunition for the unexposed ones. [Tom Frary].Sunday, Newmarket, post time: 14:20, THE BETFRED DAHLIA STAKES-G2, £165,000, 4yo/up, f/m, 9fTField: American Gal (GB) (Kameko), Arisaig (GB) (Harry Angel {Ire}), Cathedral (GB) (Too Darn Hot {GB}), Chantilly Lace (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), Cheshire Dancer (Ire) (Phoenix Of Spain {Ire}), Falakeyah (GB) (New Bay {GB}), Francophone (GB) (Study Of Man {Ire}), Jancis (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}), Miss Justice (GB) (Justify), Sand Gazelle (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Stateira (Fr) (Persian King {Ire}), Survie (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}).TDN Analysis: Twelve months ago at this meeting, Falakeyah looked a potential world-beater when running away with the Pretty Polly and despite the wheels coming off afterwards, the page is turned and she remains exciting until the bubble is truly burst. Having finished fourth in the Snowdrop over a mile, the proven Group 1 performer Survie is back up in trip and along with the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf fourth Cathedral sets the form standard in a renewal lacking star quality. [Tom Frary].Sunday, Newmarket, post time: 13:45, THE OLIVER BROWN PRETTY POLLY STAKES-Listed, £60,000, 3yo, f, 10fTField: Brigid's Well (Ire) (Ulysses {Ire}), Esna (Ire) (Starman {GB}), Jennifer Jane (Ire) (New Bay {GB}), Lilt (GB) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), Maldives (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), Sacred Ground (GB) (Kingman {GB}), Spinning Lizzie (GB) (Kameko).TDN Analysis: A fascinating Oaks trial sees Esna as marginal favourite on her fourth behind Diamond Necklace in the Marcel Boussac and prior defeat of the subsequent Feilden winner Morshdi at Sandown. The Gosdens have won two of the last three renewals with Friendly Soul and Running Lion and saddle the Oaks heroine Anapurna's daughter Sacred Ground, who may have been on the weak side when runner-up in the Montrose here in November. Lilt is another out of a famous mare in Dank and it will be interesting to see how she fares on contrasting ground to that she encountered on her winning debut at Doncaster in October. [Tom Frary].Sunday, Cork, post time: 15:05, GOFFS IRISH EBF POLONIA STAKES-Listed, €31,500, 3yo, f, 5f 110yTField: Bear On The Run (Ire) (Kodi Bear {Ire}), Dawn Romance (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}), Havana Anna (GB) (Havana Grey {GB}), Ipanema Queen (Ire) (Sands Of Mali {Fr}), Oh Cecelia (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), Quiet Mutiny (Ire) (Starman {GB}), Rosie Frith (Ire) (Cotai Glory {GB}), Royal Bay Cen (Ire) (New Bay {GB}), Thenandnow (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), Tornado Kiss (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}).TDN Analysis: Havana Anna is the class act here and a repeat of anything near her Cheveley Park second to True Love will be enough for a second Listed success. Her first, in Naas's Marwell in July, came at the expense of the re-opposing Ipanema Queen and she probably has her to beat again given the runner-up's subsequent improvement. This also sees the return of Quiet Mutiny, who holds the distinction of being the only horse to have beaten Precise having met Ballydoyle's star on debut at Fairyhouse in July, her only start to date. [Tom Frary].Sunday, Cologne, Germany, post time: 16:05, SAUREN DACHFONDS PREIS (EX GERLING-PREIS)-G2, €70,000, 4yo/up, 12fTField: Hochkonig (Ger) (Polish Vulcano {Ger}), Zuckerhut (Ger) (Almanzor {Fr}), Alleno (Ire) (Nathaniel {Ire}), Enzian (Ger) (Zarak {Fr}), Padre Palou (Ger) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}), Waldnebel (Ger) (Reliable Man {GB}), Wintertraum (Ger) (Lord Of England {Ger}).TDN Analysis: Last term's G1 Deutsches Derby hero Hochkonig has been on the shelf since annexing Hamburg's July highlight and lines up coming back off a 301-day break. His opponents include Derby also-rans Enzian, Zuckerhut and Waldnebel, with Zuckerhut having previously lowered Hochkonig's standard in June's G2 Union-Rennen. Last year's hero Alleno is best of the older brigade. [Sean Cronin].Sunday, Cologne, Germany, post time: 15:00, KARIN BARONIN VON ULLMANN – SCHWARZGOLD-RENNEN-G3, €70,000, 3yo, f, 8fTField: Alma Mater (Fr) (Zelzal {Fr}), Alpenveilchen (Ire) (Zarak {Fr}), Kendelya (Fr) (Victor Ludorum {GB}), Santa Catarina (Ger) (Zarak {Fr}), Times Jubilee (Ire) (Pinatubo (Ire), Wintersonne (Ger) (Too Darn Hot {GB}).TDN Analysis: Gestut Rottgen's Wintersonne, who went unraced as a juvenile, has snagged two nine-furlong contests at Le Croise Laroche since the middle of March and is the only undefeated contender on display. Dangers include Henk Grewe nominee Santa Catarina, who is one-from-two, Listed Prix Rose de Mai fourth Alpenveilchen and dual winner Alma Mater. [Sean Cronin].Sunday, ParisLongchamp, France, post time: 14:33, PRIX D'HEDOUVILLE-G3, €73,200, 4yo/up, 12fTField: West Wind Blows (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), Chestnut Rocket (Fr) (Intello {Ger}), Best Secret (Fr) (Persian King {Ire}), Map Of Stars (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), Oracle (Fr) (Too Darn Hot {GB}), Euboa (Fr) (Soldier Hollow {GB}).TDN Analysis: Wathnan Racing's dual Group 1-placed G2 Prix d'Harcourt winner Map Of Stars is fresh off a pipe-opening third in last month's Listed Prix Lord Seymour over this course and distance and is the benchmark here. Wathan's Listed Prix Turenne victor Best Secret is also in attendance, while G1 Dubai Sheema Classic second West Wind Blows and G3 Prix du Lys third Oracle are no back numbers. [Sean Cronin].Sunday, ParisLongchamp, France, post time: 13:58, PRIX DE LA SEINE-Listed, €50,300, 3yo, f, 11fTField: Behrayna (Fr) (Sea The Moon {Ger}), Pink Panthera (Fr) (Chachnak (Fr), Proxima Du Centaur (GB), Maine (Fr), Zlata (Ire), Dissemble (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}).TDN Analysis: All six contenders retain tickets for next month's G1 Prix de Diane at Chantilly. Aga Khan Studs homebred Behrayna defeated the subsequent winner Etincelle when making a winning debut here four weeks ago and bids to maintain Francis Graffard's hot streak in this black-type bow. Maine and Dissemble are both one-from-two coming back off breakthrough scores last month, while G3 Prix Vanteaux fifth and sixth, Proxima Du Centaur and Zlata, and the three-from-four Pink Panthera complete the line-up. [Sean Cronin].Monday, Curragh, Ireland, post time: 16:10, CLEM MURPHY MEMORIAL IRISH EUROPEAN BREEDERS FUND MOORESBRIDGE S.-G2, €78,000, 4yo/up, 10f 0yField: Adelaide River (Ire) (Australia {GB}), Edward Hamilton (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), Tiberius Thunder (Ire) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}), Beset (GB) (Expert Eye {GB}), Cercene (Ire) (Australia {GB}), Minnie Hauk (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), Shaool (Ire) (Belardo {Ire}).TDN Analysis: This sees the return of the Oaks, Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks heroine Minnie Hauk who went so close in the Arc against what we now know is a genuine top colt. She won the Cheshire Oaks when probably well short of a peak on her three-year-old return, so she should be able to deal with these even though the Coronation Stakes winner Cercene is in attendance. Beset has been busy this spring and will like it if the rain comes. [Tom Frary].Monday, Curragh, Ireland, post time: 15:35, COOLMORE AUGUSTE RODIN IRISH EUROPEAN BREEDERS FUND ATHASI S.-G3, €42,000, 3yo, Open, 8f 0yField: Alphecca (Ire) (Sioux Nation), Black Caviar Gold (Ire) (Havana Grey {GB}), Caught U Sleeping (Ire) (Cotai Glory {GB}), Drop Dead Gorgeous (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), Kensington Lane (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), Killashee Warrior (GB) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}), Mayflower (Ire) (Ardad {Ire}), Pollenca (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}), Sinmara (GB) (Kingman {GB}), Sky Watch (Ire) (Starman {GB}), White Sand Beach (Dubawi {Ire}), Wild Bessie (Ire) (Space Blues {Ire}).TDN Analysis: TDN Rising Star Drop Dead Gorgeous won the same Naas maiden as Ballydoyle's Classic heroines Tuesday and Empress Josephine and has tremendous upside on pedigree even if she is short on experience. Sinmara impressed when off the mark by six lengths at Gowran last month and could be anything, while last year's Weld Park Stakes winner Black Caviar Gold has cheekpieces added following her tame return in the Priory Belle. [Tom Frary].Monday, Chantilly, France, post time: 16:35, PRIX DE GUICHE-G3, €73,200, 3yo, c/g, 9fTField: Lord Clover (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}), Hawk Mountain (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Campacite (Fr) (Zarak {Fr}), Parade Bay (Fr) (New Bay {GB}), Mr Lope Cen (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}).TDN Analysis: Coolmore's G1 Futurity Trophy hero Hawk Mountain makes an eagerly awaited comeback off a 191-day break and gears up for the Classic trail in a trial Aidan O'Brien has yet to win. Andre Fabre, with seven renewals already on the books, is two shy of Tom Jennings' 19th century record and sends out Jean-Claude Seroul's one-for-one Saint-Cloud maiden winner Parade Bay for his sophomore debut. Jean-Claude Rouget is even closer to Jennings, with eight wins in the bag, and relies on the match-fit G1 Criterium International runner-up and G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere fourth Campacite here. Polytrack maiden winners Lord Clover and Mr Lope Cen are worthy entries. [Sean Cronin].Monday, Curragh, Ireland, post time: 13:50, AES RECYCLING FIRST FLIER S.-L, €30,000, 2yo, Open, 5f 0yField: Blixen Force (Ire) (Persian Force {Ire}), New Yorker (No Nay Never), Star Prospect (Ire) (Starman {GB}), Maria Quiteria (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}), Rebel Dance (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), Velozee (Ire) (Sioux Nation), What A Girl Wants (Ire) (Persian Force {Ire}).TDN Analysis: The first Stakes race for two-year-olds sees Ballydoyle's Dundalk scorer New Yorker take the same route as this race's 2016 and 2022 winners Caravaggio and Blackbeard. He has serious opposition in the course-and-distance maiden winner Star Prospect and the filly Maria Quiteria who also won at Dundalk and looked a bright prospect there. [Tom Frary].Monday, Curragh, Ireland, post time: 14:25, COOLMORE STUD HENRY LONGFELLOW IRISH EUROPEAN BREEDERS FUND TETRARCH S.-L, €30,000, 3yo, Open, 8f 0yField: Andab (Ire) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}), Causeway (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Geryon (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), Greek Mythology (Ire) (Pinatubo {Ire}), Iron Lily (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Neolithic (Ire) (Sioux Nation), Redemption Road (GB) (Without Parole {GB}), Take Charge Star (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}).TDN Analysis: Causeway goes the Paddington route, having won the Madrid Handicap at this track last month and he is fitted with cheekpieces as Aidan O'Brien looks to bring out some more sparkle. Stablemate Neolithic could be in to set a true pace, but on the form of his Gowran Park conditions win he might not come back as easily as all that. The runner-up that day, Greek Mythology, could take a big step forward and is one to follow. [Tom Frary].Monday, Chantilly, France, post time: 17:10, PRIX DES LILAS-Listed, €50,300, 3yo, f, 8fTField: Eostre (Ire) (St Mark's Basilica {Fr}), Edaja (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), Houville (Fr) (Zelzal {Fr}), Ecija (GB) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}), Ahalya (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}), Insidia (Fr) (Persian King {Ire}), Pierchic (GB) (Palace Pier {GB}), Zaraxia (Fr) (Zarak {Fr}), Stimulative Trip (Fr) (Hello Youmzain {Fr}).TDN Analysis: Progressive sorts meet certified black-type qualifications in this open edition. Francis Graffard trainee Edaja sits in the former camp and is two-for-two returning off wins atop this venue's artificial surface in February and March. She has already had the measure of Eostre who, like Houville and Stimulative Trip, is one-from-two, while the Nicolas Clement-Flo Hermans axis saddles Darpat France's recent Compiegne maiden winner Ecija. Of those with stakes markings, Godolphin's experienced Pierchic ran third in ParisLongchamp's G3 Prix de la Grotte three weeks ago and Listed Prix Delahante victrix Zaraxia is back after a seventh in last month's G3 Prix Vanteaux.
