Local SP leaders, however, are uncertain about their contribution to the contest. The SP’s Bihar unit has not appointed a president since 2017. The names of other office-bearers such as general secretary, vice-president, secretary and spokespersons have never been formally announced, said sources. His office is learnt to have requested for a videoconferencing link so the minister could join online, but the request was turned down.
