This year’s placement drive witnessed participation from 373 recruiters of which 48.36% were first time recruiters (NIT Rourkela)The National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela), in its placement drive for the academic year 2024-25 received 1,274 placement offers and 509 six-month internships, many of which are expected to lead to pre-placement offers (PPOs).The placement season recorded a highest CTC of Rs 62.44 lakh per annum (LPA). For flagship programmes, the average CTC stood at Rs 14.10 LPA for BTech and Rs 13.48 LPA for MTech. The highest internship offer was Rs 1.26 lakh per month (LPM). Notably, over 85 students bagged packages above Rs 30 LPA.NIT Rourkela Placement: Department-wise performanceFor BTech programme, the institute achieved 82.20 per cent placements overall. Some departments saw near-complete recruitment, with Ceramic Engineering (97.73 per cent), Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (97.06 per cent), and Computer Science and Engineering (94.48 per cent) leading the charts. Core streams like Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering also recorded over 80 per cent placement.NIT Rourkela Placement: Recruiter participationThe drive saw participation from 373 recruiters, of which nearly 48.36 per cent were first-time recruiters. The Software and IT services sector led the hiring with 22.9 per cent share, followed by Manufacturing (12.4 per cent), BFSI (11.1 per cent), Education (10.8 per cent), Power and Heavy Industries (8.1 per cent), and Oil and Gas (6.1 per cent). Emerging domains such as Aerospace, Healthcare, and Advanced Manufacturing also contributed.Top recruiters included Google, AMD, Qualcomm, Wells Fargo, JSW, Amazon, ExxonMobil, DE Shaw & Co, Accenture, Barclays, Deloitte, MathWorks, ITC, Texas Instruments, American Express, HP, Bharat Petroleum, among others.Prof. K.
