In the Android tablet market, Samsung has been offering the most premium and feature-packed models, such as the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, for a quite a while now. With that, the South Korean tech giant has been the leader in India's tablet market. According to a new market research, that was the case in the first half of 2025 as well.International Data Corporation (IDC) has published an analysis on the Indian tablet market in H1 2025. According to the research firm, Samsung shipped 886,000 Galaxy Tab units in the first half of this year in India, which give it a 41.3% share in the country’s tablet market and the first position on the chart, making it a leader once again.Samsung shipped the highest number of tablets in India in 1H2025For your reference, in the first half of 2024, Samsung shipped 1,432,000 Galaxy Tab units and had a 45.2% market share. That’s a 38.1% year-over-year (YoY) drop in shipments. However, that was largely because the Android tablet market in the country shrunk by 32.2% in the first half of this year compared to the last. In the second place is Lenovo with 264,000 shipments and 12.3% market share. Apple achieved the third place on the chart by shipping 253,000 units of iPad models. In the fourth and fifth position are Xiaomi and Acer. They shipped 244,000 and 196,000 tablets and had 11.4% and 9.1% market share respectively.Samsung is expected to launch a new lineup of flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S11 series, on 4 September 2025 during the IFA 2025 event. According to leaks and rumors about it, the two tablets in the lineup, the Galaxy Tab S11 and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra will bring significant improvements over their predecessors.
