We are not against any community, nor against reservation. But reservation for Marathas within OBC is unacceptable,” said Taywade.“We have no issue with Marathas getting separate reservation. Our concern is our OBC quota should remain intact and untouched. Unlike Marathas, we have shown a lot of restrain and maintained peace. However, if the government concedes to the Marathas demand, we will be forced to take to the streets across Maharashtra,” warned the OBC leader.Previously, Laxman Hake, another OBC leader, had urged the government not to buckle under the pressure from Marathas. Any injustice to OBC, which is a conglomeration of over 350 communities will be unacceptable, Hake had asserted stating that Marathas are socially forward class and there is no justification for their reservation.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Maratha quotaOBC
