The biggest loan fees ever as Nicolas Jackson leaves Chelsea

Wait 5 sec.

Chelsea have managed to secure one of the biggest ever loan fees as Nicolas Jackson will join Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window. The Bundesliga champions will reportedly pay an initial fee of €15 million (£13m) to take the striker on loan for the season. The deal does include an option to buy Jackson for a reported €65 million (£56.2m), meaning Chelsea could fetch up to €80 million (£69m) in total.Even if Bayern do not exercise the option to make the move permanent, the Blues will at least make a hefty sum from the loan arrangement, which is the fourth-highest fee ever made for a temporary transfer.Only Giovani Lo Celso and Alvaro Morata have moved for bigger loan fees in the past. Indeed, Morata occupies both the number one and two spots in the list. Incidentally, the €18 million Chelsea received for the forward from Atletico Madrid in 2019 comes second behind the enormous €20 million fee that Atleti received from Juventus the following year.Several notorious loan deals also feature on the list, including Odion Ighalo’s move from China to Manchester United and Carlos Tevez’s loan to the same club from West Ham.
