It’s still early into Jack Grealish’s Everton tenure, but former England international Darren Bent has loved what he’s seen.So much so that Bent believes if Grealish can continue his sparkling run of form, he’s a shoe-in for Thomas Tuchel’s squad for next year’s FIFA World Cup.Grealish hasn’t been an Everton player for long, but he’s already made a big splashGrealish has quickly cemented himself as Everton’s creative fulcrum thanks to four assists in his first four appearances across all competitions since he joined on a season-long loan from Manchester City.Remarkably, all of his assists have come in the space of two league fixtures. Two of those arrived during the Toffees’ 3-2 win over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.Who did Grealish assist and how did he do it?The first of the assists came in the seventh minute when Grealish headed the ball back across the face of goal from the left for Beto to power home. But it was Grealish’s second of the afternoon that was simply sublime. As he glided towards goal, Grealish dinked the ball in the path of fellow new signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.The former Chelsea midfielder made no mistake with an unerring finish past Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.Thanks to his two assists against Wolves combined with two against Brighton last Sunday, Grealish has now made history as the first Everton player to register two or more assists in consecutive league appearances.Toffees boss David Moyes handed Grealish a brief respite as he was taken off in the 88th minute in place of Carlos Alcaraz. And he deservedly received thunderous applause from the travelling Everton faithful for what was a match-winning performance.Toffees supporters have taken an instant liking to the 29-year-oldGettyDarren Bent’s verdict on Grealish’s performanceBent, who was at Molineux observing the action for talkSPORT, waxed lyrical about what he saw from the 29-year-old.“He was absolutely unbelievable,” Bent said.“Jack Grealish, every single time he got the ball. Positive. He had two assists today as well. Wolves didn’t know how to deal with him. “The only thing is I don’t know how he’s not in the England squad. “If he keeps putting these performances in, he’s going to be in the England squad for the World Cup, that’s for sure.”Bent added: “This game was all about Jack. He was the real star power between the two teams. talkSPORTGrealish made the left wing his own against Wolves[/caption]“He was the one that ultimately took the game away from Wolves and won it for Everton.”Grealish’s England careerGrealish failed to make the cut for Tuchel’s England squad ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia. His last appearance for the Three Lions was on October 13 as he started and bagged an assist in a 3-1 win over Finland. However, as Bent pointed out, there’s only so long Tuchel could keep Grealish out if he maintains his remarkable performance levels of late.Grealish undoubtedly will hope to be on the plane for next year after he missed out entirely on former England boss Gareth Southgate’s final squad for Euro 2024.The 29-year-old has been to two major tournaments with the Three Lions; Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup. However, of the 12 games across those tournaments he could have featured in, Grealish started just one.But Grealish looks ready to slam the door shut on the frustrations from years and tournaments gone by via strong performances for Everton, who have two wins and one defeat from their first three league fixtures this term.Grealish’s form has also been a welcome joy for Moyes, who hailed not just the Birmingham native’s noticeable on-field impact but also what he’s done behind the scenes.“It’s never easy sometimes to actually step up,” Moyes said.“I certainly think Jack stepped up and showed everybody what he can do. “Probably more so me, I was concerned if we’re getting the real Jack Grealish. I think we certainly are, more because he’s physically doing the work, he’s doing all the work for the team, he’s been creating for the team.Grealish completed the most dribbles and won the most duels of any Everton player against WolvesOffside via Getty“As everybody knows, he’s a really good lad around the place in helping.”Grealish will look to continue his rich vein of form when the Premier League resumes following the international break as he’ll take on his former side and boyhood club Aston Villa on September 13.
