(Express Archive)Amid Mumbai’s booming concert culture, the 385-year-old Bandra Fort is set to transform into a musical stage for an eclectic bunch of legendary and contemporary artists this November with the Olly Fest. Poised to run between November 14-16, the organisers said, the Olly festival seeks to celebrate music, heritage and community in a respite from the chaos of city life. The idea for the festival was envisaged by four Bandra men – Allwyn Saldanha, Nelson Saldanha, Jatinder Singh Aujla and Michael Fonseca – with the goal of launching a festival ‘by Bandra boys for Bandra’. It is only fitting then that the quartet chose Bandra Fort amphitheatre as the venue for the 2025 edition of Olly Fest, which will kick off on November 14.Set against the backdrop of the Bandra Fort (Castella de Aguada) on one end and the views of the seas alongside the Bandra-Worli sea link on the other, the three-day fest is set to feature a line-up of established to emerging acts including Indus Creed, Gary Lawyer, Joe Alvares and The Indian All Stars, Girish and The Chronicles, Shannon and The Silent Root, Isheeta Chakravarty Collective, Taal Inc and Friends, Merkaba, The S Experience, Tammy & Roy, Black in White, Chloe Sahara, and Kim Cardoz, amongst others.Besides this, the event will also feature tunes of the legendary Pink Floyd and The Doors in the tribute performances by the RLA (Retro Legendary Act) and Gary Lawyer, who are pegged to perform a homage to The Doors.Belting out tunes from retro rock to indie jams, soulful rhythms to high energy performance – Olly festival promises to offer an unforgettable weekend celebrating live music, community and culture. The musical acts will be performed at the recently revamped Bandra Fort’s amphitheatre stage. According to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, which oversees the management of the fort, the amphitheatre space is often rented out for gatherings like concerts and marathons under the civic body’s business development model. While the amphitheatre has played host to events for several decades, the BMC’s recent redevelopment of the Bandra Fort featured the transformation of the garden space around the fort into a ‘Sunset Plaza’, which has now emerged as a new space for musical events.Story continues below this adTickets as well as season passes to the festival are now available on the ‘Book My Show’ portal, with the early bird tickets starting at Rs 500.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Bandra
