Paulette Emanuel, a 62-year-old businesswoman of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment and fined after she was caught with cocaine and cannabis.Police Headquarters reported that Emanuel was charged with two counts of Possession of Narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.The charges were laid under Section 5(i)a(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (control ) Act 10:10The woman appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Monday before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed, and the charge of Possession of Narcotics for the purpose of trafficking was read to her.
