It added that considering the public interest and ongoing climatic condition, the remaining shop owners were requested to do the work related to generating challans for public distribution of grains.“Shop owners in districts like Surat, Anand, Vadodara, Rajkot etc. have started generating chalans, in the interest of beneficiaries. Moreover, many shop owners like the ones in Jamkandorna of Rajkot have started work for distribution. Additionally, distribution of wheat and rice will start regularly from tomorrow (Monday),” said the government release.Another government release stated that Principal Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department Mona Khandhar had held a meeting with fair price shop owners on Sunday. Today, we had a meeting with the Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department Mona Khandhar at Ahmedabad Collectorate. However, we left the meeting midway.”“If the government is claiming that the work has started at these many places, then why did authorities in different districts like collector, district supply officer, Mamlatdar, deputy Mamlatdar held meetings with fair price shop owners on Sunday to start the process of generating chalans? The government’s claims are far from the truth,” Modi added.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:fair price shopsgujarat government
