Karnataka Chief Minister announces ₹1 crore grant to Kodava hockey tournament

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday announced ₹1 crore financial assistance to the Chenanda hockey championship scheduled to be held in 2026 in Kodagu district.“Kodavas are synonymous with hockey. Several Kodavas have excelled in hockey at the international level and brought laurels to the country. Kodavas have retained their distinct culture and we are proud of it,” the Chief Minister said during the release of the logo for the Chenanda hockey championship here.“We will provide ₹1 crore to the hockey championship being held in 2026. I will also come to watch the games,” he said.Among those present on the occasion were Ministers Byrathi Suresh, N.S. Boseraju, and Shivaraj Tangadagi, and Chief Minister’s legal adviser A.S.
