Some claimed it’s lifted from Brad Pitt’s styling in Joseph Kosinski’s blockbuster sports thriller F1 earlier this year.That couldn’t have been too surprising, given Anand may as well have a beef with F1. Earlier this year, when fans of his 2007 romantic comedy Ta Ra Rum Pum, starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji, claimed that the film explored Formula1 racing 18 years before F1 did, Anand cashed in on the renewed love for his film and tweeted, “Ta Ra Rum Pum, you beauty!”Before Anand, fans of Shah Rukh jumped in to defend his look in King. They shared a picture of Shah Rukh’s look from Imtiaz Ali’s 2017 rom-com Jab Harry Met Sejal, where he’s sporting the same look. They claimed that if King has lifted the look from F1, Brad Pitt’s movie has lifted from Shah Rukh’s 2017 film.Comparisons of his films with Hollywood tentpoles are not new to Anand as just last year, many called his aerial action entertainer Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, as a rip-off of Tom Cruise-starrer Hollywood franchise Top Gun. Anand went on to even defend the film’s underwhelming box office performance by claiming that not too many Indians are well-versed with fighter planes.Even a couple of years ago, Anand’s blockbuster spy thriller Pathaan was at the receiving end of social media trolling for the orange bikini Deepika wore in the song “Besharam Rang”. Several trolls claimed that’s a veiled attack on Hinduism, assuming the colour of the bikini to be saffron instead.Now, Anand has reacted to the comparisons between Shah Rukh and Brad Pitt’s looks. An X user wrote on Monday, “Funny logic by haters these days. If Bollywood movie has:- Fighter Jet – Copy of Top Gun; Ship – Copy of Titanic; Same dress code – Copy of F1; Orange Dress – Anti-Hindu (crying emoji).
