The over 200-year-old St. George’s Cathedral on Cathedral Road in the city was rededicated on Saturday, after being completely renovated and aesthetically improved. The work, which began in January this year, was carried out under the supervision of a team from IIT-Madras, and completed last month. According to a press release, moderator of the Church of South India (CSI) Reuben Mark, bishop of CSI in Madras Rt. Rev. Paul Francis Ravichandran, and presbyter of the Church Rev. Ruben Jayakumar graced the occasion. A worship service was held after that. The church was built in 1815 and the first dedication took place in 1816.Published - November 03, 2025 12:24 am IST
