West Ham could hand Tottenham a double transfer and relegation blow this summer

Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown has provided an update on the future of Crysencio Summerville, who has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs this summer.Roberto De Zerbi’s focus at the moment will be on ensuring Tottenham stay in the Premier League, but it appears he may have already started making tentative plans for the summer.De Zerbi has reportedly already discussed potential transfer targets for the summer, and one West Ham star is seemingly on the club’s wishlist.Tottenham have allegedly expressed an interest in Crysencio Summerville, who has arguably been the Hammers’ best player over recent months.Ironically, West Ham leapfrogged Tottenham this weekend, and the best way to keep Summerville out of Spurs’ grasp could be to condemn them to relegation.Photo by Julian Finney/Getty ImagesTottenham told Crysencio Summerville is not certain to leave West HamIt was reported by TEAMtalk last month that Spurs are at the front of the queue to land Crysencio Summerville, who they backed to leave the London Stadium this summer if the Hammers go down. However, Mick Brown has now suggested that the Dutch winger could stay put at the East London club even if they were to be relegated. The former Tottenham scout told Football Insider: “I wouldn’t say it’s a certainty that Summerville will leave West Ham. Of course, they’re in a difficult financial situation and might end up getting relegated, so keeping their best players is going to be a tough ask. But ideally, they want to sell fringe players to raise money before they look at their star names.“From Summerville’s point of view, this has been his first impressive season in the Premier League, at a club where he’s a key player and the fans love him. He’s been in the Championship before and achieved promotion with Leeds, so it’s not something alien to him; he knows what it’s like.“West Ham will be keen to keep him because they’d have a better chance of coming back up with him in the side, even if it might be difficult.“So I don’t think you can completely rule out any chance he might stay, even though there is interest from Premier League clubs who could take him away. I’d be surprised if he really pushed for it, I don’t think he’ll force a move away. If the right offer comes in then yeah, he could go, but he could also stick around.”Spurs plotting potential double raid of West HamThe former Leeds United man is not the only West Ham player on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer window.Sports Boom claimed last month that Spurs are plotting a £75m double raid of Summerville and Jarrod Bowen this summer if Nuno Espirito Santo’s men go down. However, before Tottenham can dream of such big moves, they first need to stay in the Premier League, and their challenge has just got harder as they dropped into the relegation zone following the Hammers’ win over Wolves on Friday.
