And that led to further anger at the oche, as the latter then made a crying gesture back towards the tables. Van Veen went on to win the match and knock Littler out of the night in Manchester, with a frosty handshake following.Post-match, Van Veen labelled Littler a bad loser and pointed out the crying gesture as the reason he stared back at him. Littler then followed that up by reacting on social media with a screenshot of all the tournaments he has won so far.Tensions seemed to remain high last week too, as they practised in separate rooms ahead of the Premier League Darts in Brighton.Addressing the dramaAnd that’s where Littler started when speaking to Online Darts about the fiery clash with Van Veen from his perspective.“People have been on about the practice rooms,” he began. “I spoke to security and asked who’s where and it was Gian, Luke, Jonny and Michael, so four in one and then three in the other.Littler revealed why he practiced in a separate room to Van VeenGettyAnd he also put some blame on Van Veen for his role in the clashGetty“So, it evens it out a bit [to go into the room with three].”On the fallout as a whole, Littler then explained his side of the story saying: “Me and Gian haven’t spoken, but I’m sure we will.“From my point of view, I’m looking up at the TV and thinking he’s not going to miss. Gian’s one of the best bull hitters in the game, you know, if he’s on a 124, 128, anything, he’ll just pin the bull.“But when he came inside to the D15, looked up and drank some water and the done a fist bump towards Faith [Millar, Littler’s girlfriend] and her dad. “And then that’s when the fans started, all screaming, so then I was like that to them, saying ‘Come on’, and then the whole arena.”Littler went on to move some of the blame for the clash onto Van Veen, adding: “But then there was no need for Gian to look back and stare at me. He’s still got a dart in hand, so really he should just step back, look at the floor and throw his last darts.Littler wasn’t happy with how Van Veen acted on the stageGetty“He’s staring at me and he’s caught me…I didn’t do it to him, I did it to Faith and her dad, the whole crowd, and then there’s no need to be staring when he’s got a dart to throw. “But what other people didn’t see, I’m walking that way, he’s put his darts down on the table..“But no one sees that and hopefully this gets out to people that he’s put his darts down, so really, he’s the one who’s not doing his job being respectful.”“I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen someone put their darts down in my face,” he said when adding more context to the clash.“I was like, why, then I’ve come inside and called him a crybaby. “There was no need for it, no need for him to put his darts down, and then when he won, I picked my darts up and said ‘Well done’.” The rivals could meet again in Rotterdam this weekGettyRenewing the rivalry?
