A 60-year-old cement mixer driver who died in a tragic accident on Friday afternoon has been identified as Anthony Saliba, known to many as “Iz-Zampa”.Saliba lost his life on site after the truck he was driving crashed into an electricity pole near Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi.News of his passing has deeply impacted the Żebbuġ community, where he was well known and respected.His children shared the heartbreaking news on social media, with his son confirming that the funeral will take place on Wednesday at 3.30pm at the parish church in Żebbuġ.In a tribute posted on a Żebbuġ residents’ Facebook group, his daughter Mattea Saliba remembered her father as a man of “quiet wisdom” who was always ready to help others.“While our hearts are broken by his loss, we are grateful for the memories he has left us, moments of happiness, encouragement and a life full of love,” she wrote.Saliba was also described by his family as a “strong pillar”, someone who worked tirelessly to ensure his loved ones were cared for and supported.“There are not enough words to describe how much you mean to us or to thank you for all you have done for us,” the tribute continued.Tributes continue to pour in for Saliba, as family, friends and the wider community remember a man defined by dedication, humility and love for those closest to him.Lovin Malta extends its condolences to Saliba’s family•
