Despite Ubisoft’s travails, we’re just eight days away from the Black Flag remake’s announcement, if leaks are to be believed

Wait 5 sec.

Though Ubisoft recently confirmed that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was in the works, we have yet to see it in action. New leaks suggest that it is to surface rather soon: Next week.According to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson and ResetEra leaker BlackBate, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is to get a worldwide reveal on April 16, finally allowing us to see what Ubisoft has been working on all this time. Even if it is not revealed by this date, Henderson reports that the game is still on track to release by mid-2027, sometime during the second quarter.AC Black Flag Resynced could help Ubisoft claw back some of its stock value. Image via UbisoftRecent developments at Ubisoft could mean a delay, though, so it is not absolutely certain that this date will be respected. Nevertheless, it remains a substantial project for the company that could see it turn the tide, as it has been on a downward spiral in stock for quite some time now.Black Flag remains one of the most well-received AC games of all time, especially as a cult title, even though it divorced itself from many recognizable "assassin" character antics in favor of setting the West Indies ablaze. By doing away with its archaic, outright boring mechanics like trailing missions, Ubisoft could very well refine the title into a proper masterpiece. A lot stands to be lost, too, if Ubisoft ditches its traditional design and transforms the game into an RPG. We will know for sure once Ubisoft reveals the remake and actually shows us what it's been cooking for so long, and as things stand, that will happen on April 16. Hopefully.
