But, here's the good news: While Wembanyama isn't expected to play against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night due to the injury, he is expected to play in one of San Antonio's final two regular season games to maintain his award eligibility, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.San Antonio's final two regular season games come against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night and the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night. Wembanyama needs to play at least 20 minutes in one of those games to become award eligible. Assuming that he ultimately reaches eligibility, Wembanayma is a runaway favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year and he's a virtual lock to be named First-team All-NBA.
