The Supreme Court has brought an end to a ten-year matrimonial dispute, annulling the marriage and describing it as a “Mahabharata-like” battle. Invoking its powers under Article 142 to ensure complete justice, the court strongly criticised the husband, a practising advocate, for initiating over 80 vindictive legal proceedings. All cases have been quashed, and the husband has been directed to pay Rs 5 crore towards alimony, maintenance, and related expenses.
