The Starspangledbanner colt is trained by Graham Motion and was making his fourth start, second in America.The first foal out of South African champion three-year-old filly and older mare Celtic Sea (Captain Al), the former Andrew Balding-trained colt is followed by a two-year-old colt by Tapit, and a yearling filly by Oscar Performance. Celtic Sea was covered by the latter sire last spring. Under the third dam is Brazilian Group 1 winner La Defense (Nedawi).Coolmore's Starspangledbanner, who stands for €60,000 this year, has sired 23 winners from 38 runners in the U.S. (61%). His 11 stakes winners there are anchored by a trio of Grade I winners: Rhea Moon, State Of Rest and Gstaad.Repeat WinnerEast Jabip (Mehmas) maintained her perfect record with a victory at Keeneland for Brian Lynch on Thursday (video).
