Don’t Starve Elsewhere Is Klei’s Next Game

Wait 5 sec.

During the Triple-i Initiative stream, Klei Entertainment announced Don’t Starve Elsewhere. This will be another roguelike RPG along the lines of the original survival game. However, this time around there will be more of a fantasy element with magic involved. There’s no release window yet, but a first trailer did debut to show what to expect whether you play it alone or with others. In Don’t Starve Elsewhere, we see characters in a new fantasy-style world following being teleported through a portal. Returning characters from the original game, like Wilson, Wendy, Willow, and WX-78, all seem to appear. It seems like finding a stable base, gathering resources to help survive, and dealing with monsters when night falls will all be priorities. There’s also a reference to a fog that can be explored on the Steam page, though it will affect sanity if someone does. The Steam page also confirms online co-op multiplayer will be supported, and at one point in the trailer we see up to four people all fighting back against enemies at once.
