They had a tricky start to life in the Championship and were 15th in the table on Christmas Day.Back then, Wrexham would have gladly accepted being on the cusp of the top six with four rounds of fixtures remaining.At the same time, this is a club in a hurry. Wrexham are targeting a fourth consecutive promotion and, having got themselves into the top six, it would be a disappointment to miss out from here.With Coventry City and Middlesbrough their last two opponents, Wrexham need to get points on the board in their upcoming clashes with Birmingham City, Stoke City and Oxford United.Birmingham began the season with play-off ambitions of their own. Remember, they collected 19 more points than Wrexham in League One last time out, winning the title at a canter.But the Blues have not been in the play-off conversation for a good few weeks and their campaign is in danger of petering out. After three defeats on the bounce, Birmingham have fallen to 16th spot. They are now virtually equidistant between the play-offs and the relegation zone.Chris Davies has consequently come under pressure and he could do with a strong end to the season to ensure he is in charge at the start of 2026/27.
