THE RUNDOWNKatseye’s Manon Bannerman will not join the group’s Coachella performance on Friday night.The group’s entertainment company HYBE confirmed the news on Thursday.HYBE and Bannerman announced her hiatus from the group in February; earlier this month, Bannerman told fans that she had been having “positive conversations” with the company about her future.Katseye will perform at Coachella as just a fivesome on Friday night. On Thursday, their entertainment company, HYBE, told The Korea Herald that the sixth member, Manon Bannerman, would not be part of the performance. “Manon remains on hiatus,” HYBE said.HYBE and Bannerman announced her hiatus from the group in February. HYBE said in a statement, “After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing. We fully support this decision. Katseye remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right. Thank you to our EYEKONS for your continued love, patience, and understanding.”Bannerman later shared her own message on Weverse, telling fans, “Hi friends. I want you to hear this from me. Thank you for standing by me. I love you endlessly and can’t wait to see you again.”It’s unclear whether Bannerman will ultimately return to Katseye. She gave fans an update about her conversations with HYBE on April 3 after drawing attention for removing “Katseye” from her Instagram bio.“Thank you so much for all the love and support you've been sending my way,” Bannerman wrote on Weverse. “I’m really grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown during this time. Bannerman was part of the interview and shoot, which were conducted before her announced break.She discussed what being in Katseye had taught her about online commentary. “What we’ve learned about what it takes to be an artist is not paying too much attention to what is happening online,” she said. “I think once you get famous, there’s so many opinions all of a sudden about you. Everyone’s judging and having something to say.
