She has a stable situation. He wants to pull her into a very unstable one, with himself. I think he's a leech who will use her the same way (I speculate) he (might have) used the elder he lived with before. He lost his job and his housing because he was living with an elder, ostensibly to provide care. I hope that person at least got a clean home and nutrition while alive.
