Wells Watson's 400,000gns Book 1 Graduate Sinmara (Kingman), a Joseph O'Brien trainee, shaped with a deal of promise tackling seven furlongs at the Curragh last October and continued her progression with an impressive breakthrough score in Wednesday's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Gowran Park. Sinmara retains tickets for the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas, G1 Oaks and G1 Irish Oaks.“It's a real pleasure to train such a nice group of horses for Wells Watson,” O'Brien told TDN Europe. “We have Sinmara, as well as a nice filly, Johanna Walsh, who runs tomorrow at Gowran Park, and they've supported me very well over the past couple of seasons. Andrew Cary consistently buys high-quality horses, and we've built a great relationship with both him and Wells. It's obviously hugely exciting to have a filly like Sinmara heading down the Classic Trial route after such an impressive win today.”Positioned second behind the clear leader through halfway, the 5-4 favourite eased to the front inside the quarter-mile marker and surged clear under mild urging in the closing stages to easily overpower Rayzera (Gleneagles) by six lengths.Sinmara is the fourth of five foals and third scorer Listed Lyric Stakes third Playful Sound (Street Cry), herself a daughter of GII New York Stakes victrix Giants Play (Giant's Causeway). Playful Sound is kin to the dual Group 3 winner Ispolini (Dubawi) and the dual Group-placed Vivionn (Dubawi). Sinmara is a half-sister to last year's G1 St Leger runner-up Rahiebb (Frankel) and a yearling filly by New Bay. Dominant 400,000gns purchase Sinmara (Kingman) gets off the mark in fine fashion in the @IrishEBF_ Fillies Maiden @GowranPark1 @JosephOBrien2 | @joeysheridan8 pic.twitter.com/rkjClFkosb— Racing TV (@RacingTV) April 8, 2026The post Wells Watson’s Sinmara Impresses With Gowran Park Maiden Win appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
