Colt Optics LPVO Selected for Canadian Modular Assault Rifle (CMAR)

Last month the Canadian Armed Forces announced they will be replacing thier C7 rifles and C8 carbines with variants of Colt Canada’s MRR. Up to 65,000 the new rifles, known as the Canadian Modular Assault Rifle (CMAR), are set to be procured over the next 5 years. Colt Optics has announced that they have been selected to provide a 1-6x LPVO.Colt Electroptics are a relatively new part of the wider Colt-CZ Group. They’re so new, their website doesn’t offer much detail beyond their mission statement: “For the first time in history, Colt Optics is combining that heritage of craftsmanship with cutting-edge optical technology. Built for the professionals who stand on the front line, our optics are engineered to answer a growing demand for mission-ready clarity and uncompromising performance. Every optic reflects the same standard that built the Colt name—durability, reliability, and precision.”In a press release Colt CZ Group SE announced that Colt Electro Optics (Colt Optics) has been selected to support the Canadian Modular Assault Rifle (CMAR) C25 General Service Weapon System program. There are known to be two variants of the CMAR: a Full Spectrum (FS) variant, and a General Service (GS) variant (which represents the majority of the rifles to be procured).
