Heckler & Koch has announced the VP9CC, a new micro-compact pistol chambered in 9mm and manufactured at HK's factory in Oberndorf, Germany. The VP9CC is positioned as a smaller variant of the VP9 platform, retaining the ergonomic features and design language of the full-sized line rather than being developed as an entirely separate product. "The best thing about the VP9CC is it is simply a micro-compact VP9, our most successful, best-selling pistol family," said HK Director of Sales & Business Development Nathan Scheuth. "While the size is new, the design is not. You can trust it to perform like an HK."The VP9CC includes ambidextrous controls, HK's paddle magazine release, rear charging supports, and the same trigger found on the larger VP9 models, described as having a short takeup, crisp break, and positive reset. Six interchangeable backstraps are included, allowing adjustments to both grip size and trigger reach. The barrel is hammer forged from HK's proprietary cannon-grade steel, and the pistol ships with one 10-round flush-fit and one 12-round extended magazine. Standard sights feature a tritium front and a serrated black rear. The VP9CC is offered in both optics-ready and optics-equipped configurations. Optics-equipped models come with a Vortex Defender CCW, a closed-emitter micro optic. HK's proprietary mounting system uses a deeper slide cut and a U-channel adapter plate that wraps around the striker assembly, allowing an optic to sit more than 40 percent lower than on standard adapter plate systems, enabling co-witness with factory sights. HK states the VP9CC meets or exceeds NATO AC/225 specifications and includes the VP family's Multi-Axis Safety System, which combines a trigger safety and a firing pin blocking safety operating at 90 degrees to each other. A disassembly safety prevents slide removal until the chamber and magazine are cleared.VP9CC Specs and Features:Caliber: 9mmBarrel: Hammer-forged, proprietary cannon-grade steelMagazines: One 10-round flush-fit, one 12-round extendedBackstraps: Six interchangeableSights: Tritium front, serrated black rearRail: Picatinny accessory railSafety: Multi-Axis Safety System, disassembly safety, loaded chamber indicatorOptics: Optics-ready and optics-equipped (Vortex Defender CCW) models availableOptics mount: Proprietary system, 40% lower mounting height than standard adapter platesManufactured: Oberndorf, GermanyThe overall length is 6.02 in, with a barrel length of 3.12 in.
