A supporter sadly passed away during Blackpool’s win over Peterborough United, the club have announced.The two sides met in League One at Bloomfield Road on Saturday afternoon.A Blackpool fan died after a medical emergency during Saturday’s win over PeterboroughShutterstock EditorialHowever, following a medical emergency in the second half, a fan in attendance passed away.In a statement, Blackpool confirmed supporter Graham Sharman had tragically died.Blackpool statementTheir statement read: “Blackpool Football Club is deeply saddened to report the news of the passing of supporter Graham Sharman.“Graham suffered a medical emergency in the second half of Saturday’s match at Bloomfield Road.“Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Graham sadly passed away.“The Club have been in contact with his family and will remain in close communication to offer any support that is needed.“The thoughts and condolences of everyone go out to Graham’s family and all of those connected at this time.“Rest in peace, Graham.”The match had been paused in the 54th minute due to the medical emergency.As a result, the action was suspended for around 24 minutes before resuming once the players had warmed up again.Both clubs have released statements following the news of the fan’s passingShutterstock EditorialFollowing Blackpool’s statement, Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony sent his condolences on social media.Writing on X, MacAnthony said: “This is tragically sad.
