Is CRM that good? nahhh, there used to be a much better software ACT 2000 by far much better for salesmen that that engobering CRM software. Reality is, that these mega Contact Management Softwares go out there to buy smaller CMS (contact management software) to fold them leaving no option but to subscribe, meanwhile their products are sub optimal slow, depending an a myriad of connections and franckly what a salesman needs is a simple extension of his memory - some alarms, some reminders and peace, so perform a salesman see fit. My opinion, the minute someone comes out with a disk software like ACT 2000 again, that is when sales force is gone for good.... and guess what, it could happen at any moment - count me in for purchasing that disk - will pay as much as Final Cut $399 - one time payment - the guarantee of compatibility with MAC OS --- so to the dexter out there, make it happen. Features needed by salesman - a one seat license - maybe 2 more for data entry but that is it... sales people don't need a company wide surveillance - to the contrary that generally slows sales, and turns the sales activities into political and guess what the bottom line for the company suffers, no Sales Force is the wrong design for sales activities. Wrong design, it goes against the grain. Salesforce - bet on the wrong horse. or maybe did what it should have done. In any way, the road just ended.
