Conor Benn has been offered a world title shot by Abass Baraou.Benn is currently gearing up for his rematch with Chris Eubank Jr on November 15. Benn has suggested he will move down in weight, which he originally suggested would see him land back in his 147lbs weight class. But given he has bulked up to face Eubank Jr, ‘The Destroyer’ could well also have a future at 154lbs should he choose. And this could pave the way for a clash with the recently upgraded WBA super welterweight champion, Baraou, along his way back.Baraou became the full world champ when Crawford was stripped of his belt after fighting Canelo Alvarez. As attention turns to his first defence, Baraou told Sky Sports he’d certainly be interested in the clash. He said: “Conor Benn is around 154lbs. “He’s a big name in the UK, I’d love to fight in the UK. “The fans are amazing. “Coming in the UK, having a big fight like that, why not? I’m ready for it. Fights with a lot of emotions. “I know obviously my skill and I see myself dominating him and teaching him a little bit of something.”Benn has fought once at 154lbs, when he took on and outpointed Rodolfo Orozo in 2023, and a bout could be feasible. Is Conor Benn likely to move back down to his natural weight?Benn is certainly considering a return to welterweight, although he hasn’t weighed in at the 147lbs limit in three years.GettyBenn has stepped up in weight – but doesn’t see his future at 160lbs and has a hit-list at 147lbs[/caption]An appearance at super welterweight could be a more natural shift for the 29-year-old, considering he’s currently piling on the pounds for his sequel with Eubank Jr.Should he stick to his words and go back to his natural weight, Benn revealed he would be seeking a fight with Mario Barrios.Barrios was last seen when he drew against Manny Pacquiao, and retained the WBC welterweight title that Benn is vying for.
