Nicolas Jackson told two Premier League clubs he should join after Bayern Munich exit

Wait 5 sec.

Nicolas Jackson will hope to put himself in the Premier League shop window at Bayern Munich – it’s hard to see him staying at Chelsea. That is the verdict from European football expert Andy Brassell, who believes his price means his future will almost certainly be in England.Bayern Munich are not planning to keep Jackson beyond this seasonGettyJackson joined Bayern last summer on a deal that runs through to the end of the season, with an obligation to buy worth £56.2million.Chelsea attempted to cancel the move amid an injury to Liam Delap last August, but the striker eventually signed for the German giants. The obligation to buy clause would have become active if certain conditions were met.He was required to play at least 45 minutes of 40 matches. The Senegal international has since scored nine goals in 29 appearances across all competitions, but has started just 12 times.Bayern Munich make decision on Nicolas Jackson’s futuretalkSPORT reported in February that Jackson looks set to return to Chelsea, although without a long-term future in west London. And Brassell reaffirmed to talkSPORT.com: “I think it’s hard to see Nicolas Jackson staying at Chelsea just because he’s got a market value, which is at least partially attributable to his age. “When he’s come in, he’s not let Bayern down. He’s not sulked when he’s had to come off the bench. “Backing up Harry Kane, he’s got the hardest job in world football. There’s no doubt about that.”Bayern hinted at their succession plans for Jackson by advancing their pursuit of Anthony Gordon, talkSPORT understands.Kane has seen his minutes shrink this season to the benefit of him and the teamGettyNewcastle are looking for a £70m fee for the wingerGettyVincent Kompany’s side, who won their 35th Bundesliga title at the weekend, have been quoted a whopping £75million for the winger. With Bayern having no plans to sell either Michael Olise or Luis Diaz, the latter could also deputise as a back-up centre forward for Kane. But ironically, it could be Gordon’s Newcastle that may re-emerge as a potential suitor for Jackson upon his Chelsea return this summer.Brassell added: “In these last few weeks of the season, I think Nicolas Jackson will almost be putting together a little brochure for himself, for prospective buyers, of this is what you could get if you sign me, because Harry Kane is going to be protected by Vincent Kompany. There’s no doubt about that. “The Champions League is the major thing for them. I think that works well for England as well, because it means that Kane won’t be run into the ground in the final weeks of the season.“It’ll work for Nicholas Jackson as well because it became clear from quite an early point that he wasn’t going to play enough minutes to trigger the option that Bayern had.“And they don’t want to go paying £60 million plus on a player when they’ve already got Harry Kane on the books as well.Jackson has 30 goals in 81 appearances for ChelseaGettyNicolas Jackson next club“He roughly plays the same position,” Brassell continued to talkSPORT. “And they’re not really playing together. So it was a bit of a partnership of convenience from the beginning.“He’s had interest in the Premier League before. He’ll have interest in the Premier League again.“We know Newcastle were interested in him before. And I think they would be interested in him again were there not such a lot of forward intrigue to unpick at St James’ Park. What are they going to do with [Yoane] Wissa? What are they going to do with [Nick] Woltemade?“These have to be questioned. What are they going to do with Will Osula, who’s shown some good stuff in the last couple of months as well? They’ve got to figure all that out.“So them going out and spending money on Jackson when they have to do at least a semi-scored rebuild seems unlikely. Newcastle or Aston Villa for Nicolas Jackson?“I wonder if Aston Villa might be a fit for him at some point because Tammy Abraham is not going to be the answer week after week after week in the Champions League. “And I wonder how much more Ollie Watkins has got at the absolute elite level, so that could be an interesting signing for them as well.“But because he costs so much, there is a limited market out there for Jackson. So it’s quite difficult to find a reasonable suitor. “But at that price, the suit is almost certainly going to be in the Premier League.”
