With the rising costs of institutional senior care and care for people with intellectual differences there has been a slow resurgence of smaller group care homes that are in converted regular houses. Think of the senior home in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I don't see them asking for items as a reason to question their credentials. If anything, it tells me that they would prefer to use funds for food, utilities, and medically needed supplies. It seems more financially responsible. A lot of people want to sell or giveaway home medical equipment when a parent passes such as bedside commodes, walkers, medical beds, and rolling bed tables.
