Trained by Chad Brown, the daughter of Zindaya (More Than Ready) races for Bridlewood Farm.Bred by Fifth Avenue Bloodstock, the four-year-old filly ran second in the G3 Prix des Reservoirs behind subsequent GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine Gezora (Almanzor) in her final start for Beckett, Valmont and Ballylinch Stud in October of 2024. Sandtrap is now pointing to the GI Just a Game Stakes at the Spa in early June. A 450,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling, Sandtrap is a full-sister to multiple Grade I winner and sire Carl Spackler. Her GII Goldikova Stakes-winning dam has a two-year-old colt by Uncle Mo, a yearling colt by Justify and a filly foal by Into Mischief.Klaravich Stables' Marketplaceofideas (Lope De Vega) won an Aqueduct contest on April 23 for Chad Brown (video).The 310,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 acquisition was bred by Montcastle Bloodstock. The fourth foal out of the Listed Criterium de Vitesse third Megan Lily (Dragon Pulse), the four-year-old filly is a full-sister to German stakes winner Diamond Vega, as well as a two-year-old colt by Mehmas. Her dam's latest progeny is a yearling full-brother to the winner. Under the second dam are the group winners Yellow Rosebud (Jeremy), Soul Of Spain (Phoenix Of Spain) who was also placed twice at Group 1 level in Australia, and Sigh No More (Starspangledbanner). G1 Golden Jubilee Stakes hero Malhub (Kingmambo) is also in the family.Ballylinch's Lope De Vega, who stands for €200,000 in Ireland this year, has sired 55 winners from 102 runners (54%). His 13 stakes winners in America include five at the highest level.Starman Filly Shines In Keeneland Curtain RaiserUse Me (Starman), who races for JDT Racing, ran out a two-length winner at second asking at Keeneland on April 12 (video). The Tally-Ho Stud-bred is trained by Brendan Walsh.Out of Vociferous Marina (Vocalised), she brought €115,000 as a Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-Up Sale grad. The third of five foals produced by her Listed Salsabil Stakes-winning dam, Use Me is followed by a Cotai Glory juvenile colt and a yearling colt by Mehmas. GI Nearctic Stakes third Longhunter (Halling) is under the third dam.Priced at €40,000 this year at Tally-Ho, Starman has three runners in the U.S. Use Me is his only winner (33%), but North Coast ran third in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf.Every Day's A HolidayKlaravich Stables' Tax Holiday found Aqueduct to her liking and won on April 16 (video). By Kingman, the daughter of Secret Soul (Street Cry) is trained by Chad Brown.Part of the Newsells Park breeding program, the 180,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 purchase is the fifth foal produced by her dam, whose latest is a juvenile colt by Saxon Warrior. The second dam is the bluehen Shastye (Danehill), responsible for five stakes winners and multiple seven-figure yearlings. Her most decorated runner is the German-based sire Japan (Galileo).Juddmonte's Kingman, priced at £125,000 this term, is responsible for nine stakes winners and seven graded scorers in the U.S. and Canada led by multiple Grade I winner Domestic Spending. Tax Holiday is one of 51 winners from 96 runners (53%) there.Night Of Thunder Filly Strikes At KeenelandAndrew Stone's Vronti (Night Of Thunder) won at Keeneland earlier this month for Graham Motion (video). The four-year-old filly was bred by St Albans Bloodstock.From four starts in the U.K., the bay finished second three times for Richard Hannon and her breeder. Vronti is out of G3 Atalanta Stakes heroine Nakuti (Mastercraftsman), and she is a half-sister to Dark Angel's group winners Heredia, who was also third in the G1 Sun Chariot Stakes and The Big Con, as well as a juvenile half-brother by New Bay. Nakuti is a half-sister to GII Belmont Gold Cup Invitational Stakes hero Amade (Casamento).Darley's Night Of Thunder stands for €200,000. His strike rate in the U.S. is 67%, with 18 winners from 27 runners. Five of his winners have also won stakes, among them Grade I winners Dynamic Pricing and Choisya.Pinatubo Filly Wins For WardBreeze Easy's Dangherecomesshang (Pinatubo) won at Aqueduct for Wesley Ward on April 17 (video). The 275,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 graduate was bred by the Shang Shang Shang Partnership.The four-year-old filly is out of G2 Norfolk Stakes heroine Shang Shang Shang (Shanghai Bobby) and her latest half-siblings are a three-year-old filly named Dixie Blue (Starspangledbanner), a juvenile filly by Blue Point and a yearling colt by Shaquille. Ward conditioned the dam to win the 2018 edition of the Norfolk in the Breeze Easy colours.Darley's Pinatubo has sired six winners from eight runners (75%) in America. Two of them have earned black type, with Cavallo Bay running third in the GIII With Anticipation Stakes. The son of Shamardal stands for £17,500 this year.Winnebago Finds Gold At TampaDahman's Winnebago (Starspangledbanner) claimed a Tampa Bay Downs affair for trainer Miguel Clement on April 18 (video). Bred by Airlie Stud, Sonia Rogers and Rosemont Stud, the four-year-old gelding is a son of Bitter Lake (Halling).A 40,000gns buy-back out of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2023 and again when passed in for 105,000gns as a Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up entry, Winnebago made four starts in the U.K., with a win at Lingfield and two places for trainer Tom Clover in the colours of Anthony Mithen, Anthony Rogers and Sonia Rogers. A half-brother to Lock Lundie (Shamardal) who was placed at listed level in Germany, Winnebago has a yearling full-brother. The stakes-winning second dam Suez (Green Desert) ran second in the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes before foaling G1 Fillies' Mile heroine Lyric Of Light (Street Cry).Coolmore's Starspangledbanner has sired 24 winners from 39 runners (62%) in the U.S. A trio of his progeny are Grade I winners there in Rhea Moon, State Of Rest and Gstaad. His 2026 fee is €60,000.Repeat WinnersZulu Kingdom put his stamp on the GI Maker's Mark Mile at Keeneland for Chad Brown on April 10 (video). The Ten Sovereigns ridgling is owned by Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, William Strauss and Michael Caruso.Farfellow Farms' Expensive Queen (Lope De Vega) deadheated with Segesta (Ghostzapper) to win the GI Jenny Wiley Stakes for Brendan Walsh at Keeneland on April 11 (video). Almendares (Havana Grey) claimed his first graded stakes win in the GIII American Stakes at Santa Anita on April 18 (video). The Phil D'Amato trainee is raced by CYBT, McLean Racing Stables, Saul Gevertz, Michael Nentwig and Ray Pagano.Another D'Amato runner, Later Than Planned (Cotai Glory) added to his stakes tally at Santa Anita, with a victory in the John Shear Stakes on April 18 (video). The three-year-old colt races for Little Red Feather Racing, Sterling Stables and Marsha Naify.Marian Cross (Zoustar) returned a winner at Santa Anita for Qatar Racing and trainer Dan Blacker on Saturday (video).
