Same in the U. S. > They currently can’t find approx 32,000 people who need to be sent back/deported because their time is up. Good luck finding them. Predictable. Some were given new identities because so many ID and phones seem to vanish on the way in. There are people very willing to do that as many times as the person needs; so they could be under any name or history. That's why the sanctuary system only works in favor of the newly arrived...not to protect citizens. No one has to stay forever in a 'sanctuary' state. In fact, at least for a while (46th pres.), they'd be issued a free plane ticket to any locality in the U. S. (They also, per airport signs on the walls, did not have to comply with the same ID checks citizens did, in order to board.) Also people forget that Trump said he'd give a free ticket and $1000 and a chance to legally apply, to any who willingly left. That's a type of amnesty. Obviously the ones they went in search of (people disagree on who was among them) did not accept the offer. We've always had 'illegal' entrants but what differed this time was the systemic involvement.
