I'll freely admit to a bias, gatekeeping, whatever it's called. I don't mind redditors with a history of being part of the general community asking for help (maybe not a house!) I like seeing kids helped with the Christmas subreddits. It grinds my gears when new redditors have heard somewhere reddit helps their own, and first thing they do is hop on and beg-or bitch about not being able to post in begging subreddits. With the saddest stories, of course. Really odd that new redditors know about those more obscure subreddits, or how to search for them.
