Crowd storm the ring to attack boxer as over 40 people throw chairs and punches in mass brawl

A Turkish boxing event descended into a chaotic riot in truly unbelievable scenes.It was a hot-headed affair as the nation’s home favourite Emirkhan Kalkhan and Russia’s Sergei Gorokhov touched gloves.There were chaotic scenes in Turkey as their boxer was stopped in the second roundThe pair clashed in a big fight for the UBO world title, with a passionate crowd in to see if Emirkhan could get the job done.But it was Gorokhov who sparked some truly mind-blowing events on the night.It was under great tension as Emirkhan was on the back foot from the opening bell.And the Russian boxer – who was playing pantomime villain on the night – stepped up the ante in the second period.He looked to seize his moment and battered his way to a stoppage inside the opening six minutes.The referee waved off the contest and just as Gorokhov looked to celebrate, the crowd didn’t take too politely.Event descends into mass brawlIt was chaotic scenes as two members of each corner began to clash in the ring.They started to throw punches and the lack of security was quite alarming.Ringside spectators began to storm the ring in great numbers with over 20 fans climbing over the ropes.View Tweet: https://t.co/56LlVEn3jDGorokhov’s trainer took some real punishment and a battering as he was the victim of many punches.Plastic chairs were even thrown and used as weapons by fans as the chaos continued.It was complete pandemonium with not many left present to try and break up the brawl.The wild scenes were eventually calmed, and Gorokhov has now issued a statement.“Hello everyone. We’re currently in a hospital in Turkey,” it read.“Ismail [trainer] has suffered a head injury and is having an MRI scan right now. I’ve come through it the least badly. The gloves helped protect me. There were probably about 80 people there attacking us.“They got in the ring and beat us up after our brilliant victory in the second round, where we knocked this fighter out twice. We’ve got a police escort now; we’ll head straight from the hotel to our rooms.”
