Tibetan Association of Southern California Introduces Life and Works of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Weekend Students via Pictorial ExhibitionSouthern California: The Tibetan Association of Southern California organised a special programme for its weekend school students to introduce the life and achievements of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.The initiative was held in line with the resolutions adopted during the Annual Conference of the North America Tibetan Associations. As part of the ongoing observance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birth anniversary and the “Year of Compassion”, various Tibetan associations across the region have been conducting programmes of different scales and formats.According to reports received, the Tibetan Association of Southern California invited Tenzin Chime Nugpa as a guest speaker for the event. The programme highlighted the significance of the “Year of Compassion” and featured a photo exhibition depicting the life and works of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. It also emphasised the profound compassion and kindness His Holiness has consistently shown towards the Tibetan people.Tenzin Drakpa, Cultural Director of the Tibetan Association of Southern California, stated that implementing the resolutions adopted at the North America Tibetan Associations’ conference remains a key responsibility at the local level.He said, “On Sunday, we organised an event at the Land of Compassion Buddha Centre to mark the Year of Compassion. The themes were introduced to our young students in English, supported by photo displays illustrating His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s life achievements and his boundless compassion. With the dedicated efforts of parents, teachers, and executive members, the programme was a great success.”There are currently 36 Tibetan associations, both large and small, across North America.
