A new operator-driven investment initiative is taking shape in Uganda, aiming to tackle critical infrastructure gaps while laying the foundation for long-term economic resilience through water access, industrial expansion, and community-centered development. The effort, spearheaded by Memnon Capital Africa in collaboration with Omega Management Group LLC and Salt and Soil Corp, represents a shift away from conventional capital deployment toward a model that embeds execution and operational oversight into every stage of project delivery.“This is about building systems, not just funding projects,” said Corey Boaz. “Uganda has the fundamentals, what’s needed now is infrastructure that directly supports growth and improves quality of life at scale.”At the core of the initiative is a major investment in water systems designed to serve rapidly growing populations. Working alongside Uganda’s Ministry of Water and Environment, including Permanent Secretary Alfred Okot Okidi, the team is identifying priority zones where modern infrastructure can meet urgent demand. The systems under consideration incorporate advanced intake technologies, including subsurface solutions, aimed at delivering long-term sustainability and minimizing environmental impact.Engagements with national stakeholders have been central to shaping the initiative.Beyond water, the initiative includes plans to boost local pharmaceutical production in Kampala, an effort aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing and improving access to essential medicines.Boaz stressed that the long-term objective is to create self-reinforcing growth.“When infrastructure is done right, it becomes a platform,” he said. “Water enables health, health enables productivity, and productivity drives economic expansion.”As Uganda continues to position itself for industrial growth, stakeholders say the success of such models will depend on sustained collaboration and disciplined execution. The post Operator-Led Investment Model Targets Uganda’s Water and Industrial Gaps appeared first on The Insider.
