Prada is launching a limited-edition line of Indian-made sandals inspired by traditional Kolhapuri chappals, priced at around 750 euros, after earlier criticism over not crediting their origins. Following the backlash in 2025, Prada acknowledged the design’s roots and partnered with artisan groups in Maharashtra and Karnataka to produce 2,000 pairs, combining local craftsmanship with Italian technology.
