Could hear what sounded like gunshots or commotion. People nearby could smell the gunpowder. Everybody hit the floor. There were a number of people who were very, very scared. How worried were you that there were going to be injuries?”“I wasn’t worried,” Trump responded. “I understand life. We live in a crazy world. You can really enhance your chances of having a perfect situation, but sometimes things will happen. I did want to see what was happening because, you know, I’m the president. In one way, I guess I should be hiding.”He added, “In another way, I want to see if I can be helpful. But I did watch because I could see what was going on at the door. I also saw a lot of very strong, physically strong, really attractive law enforcement people come through those doors. And frankly, it made me feel very safe, very, very safe. There was nobody going to get by them. And this was at the very back of the ballroom, looking at the back of the ballroom, big room.”During the same interview, as The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Trump blasted O’Donnell for reading portions of the shooter’s manifesto.“I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would, because you’re horrible people. Horrible people,” Trump said. “Yeah, he did write that. I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anybody.”The incident took place Saturday night during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel.A 31-year-old California man, Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, allegedly charged a security checkpoint armed with a shotgun, handgun, and multiple knives.Allen was seen in surveillance footage sprinting past metal detectors, opening fire, and exchanging shots with Secret Service agents before being tackled and subdued. One agent was struck but unharmed thanks to his protective vest.Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other officials were quickly evacuated from the stage but were not injured. The shooter wrote in his manifesto that he was there to target members of the administration.U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has confirmed Allen has been charged with at least two counts so far, using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.Allen is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. The post WATCH: Trump Jokes About How NFL Should Sign Gunman Who Sprinted 45 Yards ‘Like a Blur’ at WHCD — ‘He Was Fast!’ appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
